A spice blend for preparing the traditional Indian tea delicacy, Data Masala. True to the saying "a good tea house is known by its Data Masala", this blend is mixed according to a recipe that has been carefully fine-tuned over many years of experience to meet the taste standards of lovers of this Indian speciality.
Ingredients
Ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, white pepper.
Preparation
Add 2 teaspoons of Data Masala spice to 0.5L of water, bring to the boil and let it simmer gently for about 10 minutes. Then add 0.3–0.5L (1 cup) of full-fat milk, cream, or a plant-based milk and bring to the boil again. Finally, add 2 teaspoons of strong black tea (e.g. Assam tea) and simmer briefly (for about 3–4 minutes). Then, strain the drink and sweeten to taste with honey or cane sugar.
