How do you use the colour correctly?
20–30g of powder for short hair
40–60g of powder for shoulder-length hair
70–100g of powder for long hair
1. Mix the optimal amount of powder with hot water in a 1:3 ratio (1 part powder to 3 parts water). You can add more water or powder as needed to achieve a consistency similar to yoghurt or ketchup. The mixture should not be too thick or too runny.
2. Always apply the colour to freshly washed and towel-dried hair. Start the application at the roots and proceed along the entire length of the hair. Always apply the colour immediately after mixing. It shouldn't be too hot (so you don't burn your scalp), but the warmer it is when applied to the hair, the better. For grey hair, a slightly thicker layer of colour is needed. Tip: If you are touching up your roots, apply the colour only to the roots, not to the entire length of your hair.
3. After application, cover your hair with the provided cap and then cover it with a towel or a winter hat. It's important to keep your hair as warm as possible. During the processing time, you can also use heat, for example from a hairdryer, to intensify the effect.
4. Leave the colour on for a minimum of 60 minutes. If you want to achieve a darker shade or cover grey hair, we recommend a longer processing time. The colour can be left on the hair for 2–3 hours. Since it's only plants, you don't need to worry about your hair.
5. After the desired processing time has passed, rinse the colour out with warm running water until the water runs clear and is free of colour. There is no need to use shampoo or other products. The colour takes care of the hair by itself. Then, dry or style your hair as you normally would.
6. The colour lasts for 2–3 weeks on average. With long-term colouring, this duration increases.
Tips and important information for colouring:
The colour effectively covers grey hair from the very first application. However, bear in mind that the resulting shade may be slightly lighter than on pigmented hair. The colour palette in the product gallery serves as a visual guide.
If you have a large amount of grey or white hair, it is recommended to do two rounds of colour application 24 hours apart.Remember that the colour is purely natural. So, if you want to change your natural hair shade, a little patience is required. The shade will really start to change after several applications. This is because the colour does not penetrate the hair structure but forms a thin coating around the hair shaft. The thicker the coating, the more pronounced the resulting shade. For example, if you have dark brown hair and want to achieve a burgundy shade, you might only notice reddish highlights at first. After several repetitions, the burgundy shade will become more prominent.
Be aware that the colour will continue to develop for a few days after application. Specifically, it will darken. Therefore, wait at least 3 days for the shade to become final.
If you have been colouring your hair with chemical dyes until now, be prepared that it might take a while to achieve the desired shade with Radico colour. Nature can deal with chemicals, but it takes time. You can initially perform 2–3 applications in a row within a 24-hour period.
Keep in mind that the final colour also always depends on your natural hair colour.
