SherpaTea Masala Tea
100g
Masala Tea is a spiced black tea from the Nepalese Himalayas, which combines the full flavour of black tea with cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, pepper and other aromatic spices. The result is a distinctive, warming drink with a rich aroma, a gently piquant character and a long, spicy aftertaste.
What does Masala Tea taste like?
The flavour is full, warming and distinctly spicy. The first sip reveals an intense black tea base, which is gradually complemented by sweet cinnamon, aromatic cardamom, warming ginger and cloves. Pepper and nutmeg add a slight spiciness and a longer aftertaste to the blend. Masala Tea is not a delicate, neutral tea. It is intended primarily for customers who enjoy distinctive aromas, spices and a fuller flavour profile. Adding milk softens its spiciness and gives the drink a creamier character.

Ingredients
Black tea, green cardamom, nutmeg, star anise, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, mace, white pepper and black cardamom.
Preparation
Use approximately 3 to 4g of the tea blend for one large cup. Pour hot water over the tea and let it infuse for a few minutes. Add warm milk or a plant-based drink to taste. You can lightly sweeten the drink with honey or sugar. Strain the tea and serve warm.
For a creamier result, you can use less water and a larger proportion of milk. A more robust honey pairs better with the spiced black tea than very delicate floral types. You can also browse our range of honeys for tea, such as the distinctive pine honey from the island of Thassos.
Storage
Keep the tea well-sealed, in a dry place and away from direct sunlight. Do not expose it to moisture or strong odours from surrounding foods. Proper storage will help to preserve the aroma of the spices and the character of the black tea.
