In this year's first spring harvest, you will find delicate teas with a wonderful aroma and a full, very pleasant taste that will be a refreshing addition to your table. The aroma is fresh and floral, slightly sweet or even mildly spicy. Alongside China and Sri Lanka, India is the largest tea producer in the world. The tea industry here employs about two million people, and the total annual production ranges from 800 to 900 thousand tonnes. The vast majority of teas from India are black. Green tea is produced in larger quantities in the northwest of the country and is mainly intended for the Afghan and Iranian markets. Higher quality green and partially oxidised teas are successfully grown in Darjeeling.
