TIERRA VERDE Fabric Rinse for Sensitive Skin 5L (66 Washes)

Tierra Verde laundry rinse is a hypoallergenic product designed for people with sensitive skin and for anyone who prefers fragrance-free products. Its purpose is to neutralise the rinse water, which effectively rinses out any detergent residue from the fabric that might irritate the skin. It leaves your laundry soft and truly clean. Using the rinse also prevents laundry from greying, looking washed-out, or becoming hard. It helps to preserve colours and restores the original absorbency of textile fibres.

Why an acidic rinse is important

Detergents need to be alkaline to effectively remove dirt. However, the natural pH of human skin is slightly acidic, which protects it from the growth of unwanted microorganisms. During a short rinse cycle in the washing machine, residue from the alkaline detergent can remain in the laundry, which can then be activated by body heat and may irritate sensitive skin. The acidic Tierra Verde rinse neutralises the alkaline rinse water, helping to completely rinse out all residue from the fabric.

A rinse aid is not a fabric softener

Unlike regular fabric softener, this rinse aid doesn't coat the textile fibres, but cleans them. Fabric softener works similarly to a hair conditioner—it smooths the fibre by coating it with a thin layer. While this process leaves laundry feeling soft to the touch, it also reduces its absorbency and breathability. That's why fabric softeners are not recommended for towels, tea towels, bed linen, or functional clothing. The Tierra Verde rinse, on the other hand, restores the natural properties of the fibres and leaves the laundry ready to perform its function.

How to use and store the laundry rinse

For machine washing, pour the rinse into the fabric softener dispenser. For hand washing, use 30ml of the product per 10 litres of clean water, let the laundry soak for at least 10 minutes, and then rinse it. If you wish to scent your laundry, you can add a few drops of essential oil, but this will cause the product to lose its hypoallergenic status. When stored at temperatures below 10°C, a white cloudiness or sediment may appear, but this does not affect the product's functionality and will disappear after shaking or warming.
