The McGrey BS-88 keyboard impresses with its high-quality sounds and great features for learning music. Almost all settings are adjusted using the keyboard itself. Their functions are displayed directly above the keys, offering quick access without disrupting the instrument's appearance. On the right-hand side, there are nine buttons for different sounds; the first eight let you select the most common sounds and percussion. The ninth button can be assigned to one of the 139 GM sounds. Pressing two buttons simultaneously mixes both selected sounds (dual). The split function for the left-hand keys differs by allowing you to set a different sound from the right-hand side.

The Twinova function (the 'Lesson' key) splits the keyboard into two halves, giving you two small, independent piano keyboards side by side. The built-in player can play MP3 files from a USB flash drive directly through the speakers. Simple playback controls are available, such as play, pause, skip, repeat, shuffle, and a dedicated volume control. To play along with your favourite songs, you can connect a smartphone, tablet, or another MP3 player to the jack socket. The music then plays directly through the speakers. On the back, there are two headphone outputs and a USB-host port for connecting to a computer.
