The fourth publication in the 100 Proven Building Details series is dedicated to the now almost forgotten crafts of plumbing and roofing. The authors used images from 19th and 20th century books to comment on the book, but modern materials were also used. The reader will learn about the basic shapes of roofs, plumbing and roofing tools, different types of coverings, with gutters and all accessories for their installation, dormers, roof ridges and corners. All details are accompanied by a short insider's commentary or a description of the procedure for performing a particular detail. The book provides basic information for all those interested in these crafts, and not only laymen, but also apprentices and experienced practitioners will find their own.
