A Bridge Too Far - Blu-ray

A film by Oscar-winning director Richard Attenborough about Operation Market Garden, a military operation intended to hasten the end of the Second World War but which instead turned into one of the Allied forces' biggest fiascos.
Autumn 1944. Paris has been liberated and the Germans are retreating on all fronts. However, the Allies are suffering from a lack of supplies and their advance has almost ground to a halt. Field Marshal Montgomery comes up with a new plan—to capture and hold three bridges in Holland, leading across the Rhine into Germany. However, the entire operation is complicated by difficult terrain and the fierce resistance of the German defenders.

This monumental war epic stands out for its all-star cast (including Sean Connery, Gene Hackman, and Robert Redford) and magnificent production design.
