A call from nowhere

Tramp Ota Fink is investigating. Ota Fink, a turner and an unwitting investigator, has to find out about the disappearance of Colonel Hlomozy's wife, who seems to have fallen out of Major Terazky's eye. It's the early 1960s and Ota Fink, a young woodturner, hobo and clueless detective, goes camping with his hobo buddies and girlfriend House in a former military area. And since strange things always happen around Ota, it can't be any different here. It begins with the ringing of a military telephone in a forest pasture (in the age of mobile phones this would not have been surprising, but in 1960 it was), and continues with an encounter with the "soldier from the loafing" Colonel Hlomoza, basically the twin brother of Major Terazky from The Black Barons. When the tramps discover that the colonel's wife disappeared under suspicious circumstances a few months ago, it becomes clear what mystery Ota Fink will have to get to the bottom of. Ota Fink's stories seem to be stored in a time capsule, the realities of socialist Czechoslovakia are portrayed so faithfully and humorously that the older ones can reminisce about their youth and indulge in nostalgic nostalgia, and the younger ones... well, judge for yourself.
