A deadly defence

Captain Sylvie Kurtišová has just started her new job as the head of the Olomouc criminal police. On the same day, a young married couple are found in their flat, having committed suicide together. Something about the seemingly clear-cut case doesn't sit right with Sylvie, and her instincts don't let her down. Together with her colleagues, she uncovers an extensive blackmail scheme. The investigation also leads her to Hradec Králové, Brno and Jihlava, where she takes an interest in a suspicious lawyer. In the meantime, the local investigator has also focused on her: a severed head has been found in her flat. But then the lawyer disappears without a trace, and Sylvie knows she only has hours left to prevent another murder.
