A friend like no other

A magical story about the unusual friendship between a strong wolf and a small gopher. It's also about tolerance, courage, helping others, the importance of family, and respecting someone different. It's a wonderful book to read aloud to children and then discuss together.
Every morning, Leon the little gopher hops joyfully through the forest, stuffing all the treasures he finds into his cheek pouches: a snail shell, a bird's feather, a dragonfly's wing. One day, he bumps into a wolf, his greatest enemy. But instead of pouncing on him furiously, the wolf just squints helplessly. It seems he is seriously injured. Leon knows he can't just leave him lying there without help. Every day, he returns with a little food and encouragement. The two gradually become friends. Everything is going well until their unusual friendship is put to a difficult test.
