A good reason to kill

Introducing a group of criminologists from Písek, headed by Captain Karas, is a bit of carrying wood into the woods for Ladislav Beran, an emeritus commissioner of the criminal service and a well-known author. His criminologists, Lieutenants Studnička and Mach, as well as Investigator Vandová, have become old friends over the years, and readers eagerly await the literary treatment of their new cases. Also in the stories Close Your Eyes, I'm leaving, Gentlemen, Red card, The murky waters of crime, Erotoman, No one can pee on genes, Gentlemen! and others, it is obvious that the author knows the environment he writes about intimately, and the individual detective stories do not lack suspense or humour.
