A Home That Smells of Flowers

Love blossoms in the most unexpected of places

Joan Sample’s life hasn’t turned out the way she’d hoped. After her children left home, she was suddenly widowed and found herself stuck in a shell of loneliness. After another birthday spent alone, she finally gives in to her sister's urging and decides to get her life back on track. She hires someone to tame her overgrown garden, gets an energetic puppy, and rents out her spare room.
Maggie Herbert is tired. She works as a barista during the day, studies to be a nurse in the evening, and is beginning to understand that by constantly bailing out her alcoholic father, she's not helping him or herself. Renting a room from Joan seems like a promising start to a new chapter in her life; what's more, it could even become a home. Joan's son, Nick, would certainly like that.

A charming story about hope, family, friendship and love
