A night full of danger

Series: A Gambler's Daughters II

The series follows the fates of three aristocratic Irish sisters who set out for London to win high-society husbands. A story from Regency England…
Elise Lanscar is furious – her own sister has married the man she had imagined as a husband for herself. Feeling betrayed, she flees London, determined to return to the only place where everything was once as it should be – her family home in Ireland. But when her stagecoach crashes in a storm, she finds herself stranded in the wilderness with no one to help her – except for a scruffy, rough-looking, yet handsome stranger – a man who has evidently never been initiated into the proper rules of social conduct. Christopher Fitzhugh-Cox, the missing Duke of Winderton, has fled all his obligations and duties, preferring the persona of the carefree adventurer 'Kit'. He proudly leads a humble life, consorting with commoners and thieves. However, as much as he values his freedom, he is certainly not one to abandon a lady in distress – not even a lady as stubborn, yet fascinating, as Elise. But tonight is just the beginning of an unexpected, often dangerous adventure. And two disillusioned souls, caught in their own webs of expectation and disappointment, are about to discover that life always holds surprises and gifts. And in return, it asks only one thing: to risk everything for love.
