A nightmare paradise

Above a small town with a high crime rate lies the mysterious Černěhvozd, a deep forest full of twisted, moth-like trees, where the ancestral home of a famous generation of psychiatrists stands.

And it was there, to the Black Forest home of his ancestors, that successful novelist Ben Bookman went one weekend last year to finish his latest horror novel, The Scarecrow. However, on the day The Scarecrow is released, the book' s horrific plot begins to unfold in reality.

Detective Mills uncovers a horrific murder: a family cut into pieces and stuffed into cocoons sewn together from corn husks and hung from beams in a barn – a scene like something out of the opening of Bookman' s latest horror film. When another family is murdered in a similar manner, Mills, along with his colleagues from the local police, as well as his daughter Samantha, investigate how the murders - and especially the killer - are connected to Bookman' s newly published book. There is no time to waste, however, as the horror story quickly reaches its horrific climax.
