A sea of sorrows

The lost kingdom of Orr lies beneath the ocean waves, an entire civilisation consumed by an ancient cataclysm. For centuries it slumbered in the depths, its age-old secrets lost.

Until now… The Elder Dragon Zhaitan has risen. The sunken kingdom of Orr is reborn – and another is destroyed. The city of Lion's Arch, the cornerstone of civilisation in Tyria for generations, is brutally swept away by the waves, leaving nothing but ruins. Among the survivors is Cobiah Marriner, a sailor shipwrecked by the tsunami and left stranded at sea. When a fierce charr rescues him, Cobiah knows he has been thrown into a world forever changed. Zhaitan's undead servants now control the seas, destroying port after port and massacring anyone who stands in their way.

Amidst the devastation, Cobiah vows that Lion's Arch will be rebuilt. In the tempest following the dragon's rise, Cobiah must become a hero to his crew, an admiral to a pirate fleet, and face the ghosts of his past. Only then can he command the Sea of Sorrows and crush the war fleet of Orr.
