Adelheid (DIGITALLY RESTAURED FILM) - DVD

The war is over and the tables have turned. Lieutenant Chotovický returns to his homeland to recover. He avoids people and longs for peace, but finds himself hypnotically watching Adelheid, the German woman assigned to him as a housekeeper.
The intimate psychological drama reflects on the period of the displacement of Germans from the border regions and balladically portrays the distorted interpersonal relationships between two nations in the turbulent atmosphere of the post-war years.

DIGITALLY RESTORED FILM
A grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway supported the digital restoration, which was supervised by the National Film Archive and co-financed by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. The project partners were the National Library of Norway and CESNET.
The digital editing process begins by scanning the film at 4K resolution. This involves special equipment with registration pins to ensure maximum image stability. This is followed by the removal of visual and audio imperfections in two phases – first semi-automatically, then manually, cleaning frame by frame.
