Advanced Power BI Course (Two Days)

In Power Query, we will show you interesting combinations of tools that you may not know yet
In DAX we will show, for example, the CALCULATE function, the function for working with time or SUMX
In the visuals, we will also show less common useful visuals from AppSource
We will also take a look at the Powerbi.com cloud environment

Course topic

Repetition and practice of basics
At the beginning of the course, we dedicate enough time to revisit the creation of queries, data models, and visuals. This will create a good basis for other, already a little more advanced topics.

Questions
We will learn to do even more complex operations with queries - for example, creating your own columns or writing and running custom functions. We will also show you various, even less common, ways to connect or split queries.

DAX language - its use and function
DAX is a language in which you can do simple calculations, but also write calculations that can be used in corporate reporting.
We will go through, for example:

• filtering functions ALL, FILTER, SELECTEDVALUE
• functions for creating GROUPBY tables, SUMMARIZE, INTERSECT, EXCEPT, SELECTCOLUMN, DISTINCT, UNION
• time intelligence function SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR, TOTALYTD
• other DAX functions such as CALCULATE, RELATED, LOOKUPVALUE

Graphs and visualizations, data stories
We will show you how to more advanced graphs and tables - including popular visuals such as Scatter plot, KPI, Gantt chart, Funnel or visuals analyzing the effect of various quantities on the result.
