Al-Yaman: Hurriya - CD

The Prague-based band AL-YAMAN primarily draws inspiration from the folk and popular songs of Yemen and the Arab world. The band's sound is a fusion of acoustic instruments and electronics, combining traditional methods with new elements of dance music.

They have played numerous successful concerts at both festivals and club venues. A notable example is last year's performance at Transglobal Underground's concerts in the Czech Republic, a band to which Al-Yaman is often compared. The strong Arab influence in Al-Yaman is brought by singer Ashwaq Abdulla Kulaib from Aden.

She left Yemen for Prague in 1990 to study and has remained here ever since.
