America: 50th Anniversary - The Collection (2x LP) - LP

A box set released by the Rhino label to celebrate half a century since the formation of the band America.
This two-disc edition contains the core legacy of one of the most successful folk rock bands in music history. It also features several rarities, including an early studio recording of the famous track Ventura Highway, a live recording of the song Riverside, and a previously unreleased demo of their American number 1 hit, Sister Golden Hair.

America is an American folk rock music group. The original members were Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell, and Dan Peek, who passed away in 2011. Their most famous song is arguably A Horse with No Name. Paradoxically, the band was formed in London, where the fathers of all three members were stationed at a US Air Force base. They achieved their greatest popularity in the 1970s, renowned for their vocal harmonies and light acoustic folk rock sound. They have released numerous highly successful albums. They are Grammy Award winners and have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
