Will Erika find the serial killer before he strikes again?
When Detective Chief Inspector Erika Foster finds high-ranking politician Neville Lomas naked, bound, and dead in his own bed, the Metropolitan Police command quickly decides his death does not need to be investigated. The case is closed, but only until a promising football star is also found dead. Erika and her team then connect these murders to the death of a well-known film director.
The police can no longer ignore the obvious: a serial killer is on the loose in London, looking to settle a score. However, the investigation's findings are somewhat confusing. CCTV footage reveals five female suspects, all of whom are indistinguishable from one another. In her search for their identities, Erika repeatedly comes across a reference to a sex worker who has enough dirt on so many influential men that it is making even the most powerful politicians and the top brass at the Met nervous.
Time is running out before the killer's next attack, and it's up to Erika to untangle the web of evidence and answer the crucial questions: What connects the victims, who else is involved in the scandal, and how far are the powerful willing to go to protect their own interests?
