Anna O.

Murderer or victim?

The average person sleeps for thirty-three years. What are we capable of doing during sleep? And are we responsible for that?

Anna Ogilvy was a young, promising journalist from a well-off family until one day she was found covered in blood and with a knife in her hand near the bodies of two of her stabbed friends. Anna O. but she has been asleep ever since and has not been awakened for the next four years.

Dr. Benedict Prince is a forensic psychologist and sleep disorders expert specializing in crimes committed during sleep. His innovative method for interrupting the " resignation syndrome, " as experts describe Anna' s condition, is the last hope for Anna' s awakening and the possibility of a fair trial. Such a professional goal is irresistible.

But the case of Anna O., the namesake of the patient from Sigmund Freud' s book, is under close scrutiny and Ben must act cautiously. Not only does he face hateful attacks, but he himself has professional secrets and a complicated personal life. Additionally, during treatment, it becomes uncertain: Did Anna really commit murder, or is there something else behind it? Only she knows the truth about what really happened that night. And only Benedict knows how to get to her. It probably won' t be a win for either of them. What if our nightmares aren' t really nightmares?

The story, viewed from the perspective of multiple characters, constantly meanders and escalates into a thrilling game of cat and mouse, where it is not clear until the last moment who is the cat and who is the mouse. A gripping, disturbing thriller that won' t let you go.
