Anomaly: Defenders is a strategic PC game that flips the established concept of the series on its head. This time, you find yourself on the side of the aliens, and your task is to defend against the attacking humans. The game belongs to the tower defence genre, where passively building towers is not enough. You'll need to actively decide on their upgrades and use special abilities to repel enemy waves. The title combines action and real-time strategy genres and is designed for a single player.

The gameplay is built on the foundations of tower defence but adds active elements that demand your constant attention. Merely placing towers won't lead to victory. Success is determined by the correct timing and use of special functions that you can assign to your towers. Each tower has new functions like Repair or Rage, which will give you a tactical advantage in battle. You'll need to strategically plan not only the construction but also the management and support of your defensive structures in real time.

Upgrade Your Arsenal and Progress Through the Game

Progressing through the game is linked to gradually upgrading your arsenal. The game offers a sophisticated technology tree where you choose which attributes and upgrades to focus on. This allows you to tailor your defence strategy to your playstyle. You have eight different types of towers at your disposal, each of which can be further specialised. You will test your skills across 24 levels that will take you to diverse battlefields, from space stations to uncharted territories.
