Antonio Carlos Jobim: Stone Flower LTD

LP Record By around 1970, after two decades of a musical style that synthesised elements of samba and cool jazz, it seemed as though almost everything had been said about bossa nova. Experimental musicians like Luis Bonfa, Baden Powell, Charly Byrd, João and Astrud Gilberto, and saxophonist Stan Getz, brought fire and sentiment to this "new thing". At the forefront was Antonio Carlos Jobim, who sent his catchy melodies, such as the poignant and captivating "Desafinado" and the brilliantly monotonous "One Note Samba", on a world tour. This album, reflecting Jobim's creative profile at the peak of his maturity, shows that the man from Ipanema still had more to say.
