Fredrik Backman, the author of A Man Called Ove, is back and with him, perhaps his funniest book yet
Anxieties and their people is a completely bonkers comedy about a group of hostages captured during a search of an apartment. An unsuccessful bank robber locks himself inside with an overenthusiastic real estate agent, two morons addicted to IKEA shopping, by a shy multimillionaire, a sad old lady, by a woman in an advanced stage of pregnancy, an annoying guy and a rabbit head. Eventually the robber gives up and lets everyone go, but when the police burst in, the apartment is... empty.
In the ensuing series of confused interrogations, everyone gives their version of events and the reader is presented with a classic detective mystery: How did the robber escape? Why is everyone so mad? And most importantly - what is happening to everyone today?
