Another detective story from Czech medieval castles, by historian and popular author Vlastimil Vondruška, is full of mysterious plots and adventurous searches.

A workshop surrounded by rocks and a demon that uncannily takes possession of her body appear to her in a goofy rant. Her father calls an exorcist, but Ludmila knows that Anna is not crazy. She starts asking around Bezděz and soon comes across the disturbing fact that other noble girls have experienced something similar.

Fortunately, her husband Oldřich of Chlum is returning home with his helper, the squire Ota. They take up the case and begin to fight not only the cruel murderer, but also the superstitions and intrigues of the North Bohemian nobility...
