API - Queen of the Mountains - DVD

A travel documentary from an expedition to a remote and inaccessible seven-thousander in Nepal. Api is located near the tripoint where the borders of Nepal, India, and China meet, not far from the sacred Mount Kailash, which lies in Chinese Tibet. The pilgrimage trails to Kailash also run along the Mahakali River on the way to the mountain. The expedition slowly makes its way through landslides and flood-damaged access routes to the base camp below Api. From there, the journey continues eastwards through a beautiful, sparsely populated and even less-visited landscape in the southern foothills of Api. The documentary also describes the customs and traditions of the local tribes who came to the area from India while retreating from the pressure of Islam in the 14th century.
