Armoured personnel carrier OT - 810
After the Second World War, the restored army of the Czechoslovak Republic had to quickly solve the problem of the lack of combat equipment that would ensure greater mobility and protection of infantry units. It had a varied mix of armoured personnel carriers, either from foreign units or war booty. Most of them were of German provenance - and it was the German HkL 6P (also known as "Hakl") armored personnel carriers that served as the inspiration for the first post-war armored personnel carrier of Czechoslovak provenance, the OT-810. This is a remarkable and in many ways unique machine, which was originally intended to be an improved copy of the German original, but through gradual modifications it evolved into a completely new vehicle, which, while retaining the original concept from the 1940s, introduced many new features. The experienced author has processed previously unpublished materials from military archives for this original book in terms of pictures and facts.
