Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers: Moanin' Ltd Clr

LP Record Art Blakey is more than just a giant of jazz drumming. He is a hard bop legend, a unique and innovative bandleader, and the heart of one of the most prolific periods in musical history. He was also a generous mentor who, after forming the collective group The Jazz Messengers with Horace Silver in the early 1950s, nurtured the development of gifted young musicians like trumpeters Clifford Brown and Donald Byrd, pianist Chick Corea, and even saxophonist Wayne Shorter. Of all the albums this essential group recorded, "Moanin'" is undoubtedly the most significant example of the sound that became the foundation of modern jazz.
