Astro Boy - DVD

Is it a bird? Is that a plane? No, Astro Boy. He was made for thrilling adventures that only he can experience. His father, the famous scientist Dr. Tenma gave him super strength, X-rays, speed and the ability to fly above the clouds. Astro Boy is learning about the world, learning human emotions when his family and friends find themselves in need. So the plucky boy returns to his hometown of Metro City to face perhaps the biggest challenge of his life so far.

Astro Boy comes from the mind of Osamu Tezuka, who is nicknamed the God of Manga, i.e. Japanese comics. He began publishing Tales of a Little Boy in the early 1950s. These were later reworked into a television series. It was his form that set the course for all Japanese animation production and Tezuka's influence is still evident today.
