At the end of the world
Joe Taylor is a mercenary who works for clothing giants, securing the production of clothes in third-world factories. He knows which factories use child labour, where slave labour and blackmail take place, and where the world's most expensive handbags are burned. His knowledge and information are a thorn in the side of his business partners because he knows so much he could easily ruin them if he decided to leak the information to the world. And the billionaires don't like that. Together, they decide to give him another assignment, but they forget to tell him that he is supposed to 'accidentally' lose his life during it. To make matters worse, a mysterious woman joins him, and Joe finds out that she knows even more than he does. This dramatic, cynical, and humorous adventure on a journey of redemption from the world of fast fashion takes Joe from Africa across the Indian Ocean to the Philippines, China, and Cambodia, all the way to the borders of Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal and the Himalayan giants. Rudolf Havlík's new novel will draw you with its humour into the wild world of clothing manufacturing, which is often more adventurous than it may seem.
