Who and why are they attacking the men who investigate and punish the most serious crimes? Who is threatening their families? Is it revenge from the past, or does someone want to eliminate them out of fear of being exposed in the future? This time, an imaginary deadly noose is drawn around the family of investigator Borek Rybář, then the Old Town executioner Hanuš Mydlář and his loved ones find themselves in danger, and the murderer cruelly intervenes in the life of Judge Hykl himself.
