B-52's: Cosmic Thing - LP
A vinyl reissue of the fifth album by the American new wave band, The B-52's. The album, Cosmic Thing, was released in 1989. It features what is probably the band's biggest hit, the song Love Shack, with another single being the track Roam.
This was the first album the band released after the death of their original guitarist, Ricky Wilson, in 1985. The album was produced by Nile Rodgers of Chic and Don Was of Was (Not Was). After its release, the band embarked on the Cosmic Tour.
The American new wave band The B-52's hail from the town of Athens, where they formed in 1976. Over the course of their career, the band has absorbed a range of influences, including post-punk and pop-rock. They became famous for the singles Rock Lobster (1978) and Love Shack (1989). In 1990, the band's vocalist Kate Pierson sang a duet with Iggy Pop called Candy, which appeared on Pop's album Brick by Brick.
