Baby Jesus - the Inner Teacher

Who is Jesus? This simple, timeless question has echoed down the centuries. The answer to it is also simple, but by no means easy. If we choose to listen to this question from Jesus and answer it, it will change our way of life, thinking, and feeling. It leads us to a self-knowledge that transforms us. We can only answer such a question when we ourselves become sufficiently simple through long and deep listening. Jesus plays an indispensable role on the path to any authentic spirituality. Although many people have some problem with the Church – including most believers – the person of Jesus is one of the stable beacons leading humanity from the confusion of selfishness, despair, and violence towards the higher goals it constantly sets for itself, namely kindness and peace of mind. Laurence Freeman is a Catholic priest and a Benedictine monk at the monastery of Santa Maria di Pilastrello in Italy. He is the Director of the World Community for Christian Meditation. He worked with another famous Benedictine and author of books on Christian spirituality, John Main, with whom he helped organise the Christian Meditation Community in Montreal. In 1991, he founded the International Centre of The World Community for Christian Meditation in England. He is actively involved in inter-religious dialogue.
