Badu Erykah: Baduizm (2016 Edition) (2× LP) - LP

Erykah Badu (born 26 February 1971), born Erica Abi Wright, is an American R&B, soul and hip-hop singer-songwriter and a leading figure of neo soul. Some of her songs have a strong jazz influence, with some critics even comparing her to the legendary Billie Holiday.
Her best-known singles include "On & On", "Part of My Life", "Next Lifetime" and "Bag Lady". Her performance clearly shows her respect for singers like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Chaka Khan (whom she declares to be her all-time favourite singer).

In 1997, she released her highly critically acclaimed debut "Baduizm", which reached number two on the US album chart. The single "On & On" reached number 12 in both the US and UK singles charts. The album features personal lyrics and a light, jazzy sound built around a prominent bassline. It is often cited as one of the very first neo-soul albums.
Her vocals are sophisticated and her voice is instantly recognisable. Erykah also produced all the tracks on this album herself. Baduizm went triple platinum and won a Grammy Award along with the single "On & On".
