Audiobook by Anna Bolavé Before the Flood
An unknown guest visits the villa on the banks of the river in Řečovice. It comes through the old well and does not belong to the terrestrial world. Hana Strnadová is also attracted more by the world below the surface than by interpersonal relationships in the city. Jarda Vávra, who is unhappily in love, invites Hana's former psychologist Radka Borská to visit him and advise him on how to deal with his complicated relationship. The doctor's initial enthusiasm is replaced by disillusionment and necessary self-defence. Anonymous letters arrive at the Vávra family's sawmill and the days begin to taste like rotten fish. The river has a life of its own, after a long drought the water level rises unexpectedly and returns to the inhabitants what they unwisely dumped into it during the winter.
