Berliner Philharmoniker: Mahler Symphony No. 9 - CD
Gustav Mahler was an Austrian composer and conductor. He is considered one of the greatest composers of symphonic music: he composed 9 symphonies (and did not complete one), in some he also used the vocal component.
Songs and song cycles occupy a special position in his work.
Together with Franz Schubert and his teacher Anton Bruckner, Mahler is one of the most important Austrian composers of late Romanticism. His work formed the basis for modern music of the 20th century. He was partly inspired by the influences of the Czech environment in which he grew up.
