Author Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks has been acting for a living since 1977. He first appeared on television in 1980 in the ABC series Bosom Buddies, and on screen in a leading role in 1984 in the film Zbluňk!. He premiered on Broadway in Nora Ephron's play Lucky Guy. He is the recipient of several Golden Globe Awards and two Academy Awards for his leading role in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump. He has produced numerous films, documentaries and television series. He has written several scripts for film and television. His short story collection Neobvyklý typ (Domino) was published in 2018 and his novel Biják in 2024: How to make a great film (Motto).
