Billy Gibbons And The BFG' s: Perfectamundo (2015) - CD

For forty-five years, no one could have imagined the iconic frontman of ZZ Top, Billy Gibbons, without the bearded twin of Dusty Hill. But now everything is different. Gibbons celebrated his sixtieth birthday and released his debut solo album. It sounds almost unbelievable, but it' s true. Gibbons therefore definitely deserves recognition that at the retirement age he embarked on the Billy Gibbons And The Bfg' s project without the platinum crutches of his home ZZ Top and without his two partners, with whom he has a whole musical life.

The album “Perfectamundo“ is taught to its fans, who have often celebrated their fiftieth birthday, and is set to suit this age group. He won' t tell the young people much anymore, not only because there is no hit on it. However, all the songs are carefully composed, set in hard-framed blues guitars, but without an absolute pinch of commercial ambitions.

Therefore, mainly lovers of Gibbons' guitar work, which is as legendary as its beard, will come to their senses. “Perfectamundo“ will quite satisfy ZZ Top fans. Of course, when compared to most of the albums of this Texas legend, it hardly stands up, but as is well known, the bar of quality has never dropped too deeply at ZZ Top. Gibbons simply recorded the record for his pleasure and for his fans. After all, at his age and after what he has done, he does not need to prove anything to anyone.
