Bivoj the Warrior
A fantasy woven from Old Slavic myths.
The culmination of a two-part novel based on the Ancient Bohemian Legends. The land of the Czechs is invaded by the Zličans, who conquer Libušín and Budeč, and it seems all hope is lost. Bivoj comes to the rescue, setting out with a message for Prince Přemysl.
The culmination of a two-part novel based on the Ancient Bohemian Legends. In the previous volume, Bivoj the Beast-Slayer, the spirit of the deceased Duke Krok warned Libuše and her sisters of a threat coming from the mysterious deep forests. His premonition came true. The fierce Zličans, led by Avar warlords, have conquered the sacred Libušín, the glorious Budeč, and many other fortified settlements and villages. The Czechs are hiding in the forests, and it seems there is no hope of salvation. However, Krok's determined daughters are here, and they want to free their people from the dominion of the cruel invaders. The brave Bivoj has already come to their aid once, when he saved Kazi from the clutches of a wild boar. Now he sets out to find Přemysl, the Prince of the Lemuzi, with a message not to leave the Czechs in the lurch. The author has transformed Old Slavic legends and myths into an original fantasy. Let's get carried away by the depictions of battles, spells, and magic, and marvel at how familiar mythical figures are transformed into sorceresses, rusalkas, warriors, and demons.
