Black Midi: Schlagenheim

LP Record Album of the month in Musikexpress. A very young London jazz band that produces the most compelling math rock of today. When you see this band live, the complex density of the music makes it hard to believe it’s just a four-piece; their debut adequately captures this soulful madness: a production whose exaggeration is deliberately provocative. Each of the nine tracks is a playful overstatement that gives the listener a chance to breathe.
