Black Sabbath: Paranoid (Remaster 2004) - CD
“Paranoid“ is the second studio and breakthrough album of the English group Black Sabbath. It soon reached the top of the UK charts. Then she overcame Simon' s Bridge Over Troubled Water & Garfunkla. It stayed in the first place for one week. It is considered one of the first and pioneering metal albums. The album was originally supposed to be named after the title anti-war song War Pigs, but at the last minute the name was changed, but the cover remained the original. The song Paranoid, after which the album was renamed, was recorded at the last minute to extend the overall length of the album. It is said that it was recorded later in an old church.
When it is said that it is not possible to enter the same river twice, Black Sabbath did so and created one of the most influential albums in the history of rock music. Musically, they continued exactly where they left off with their debut. The tracks on the second album are full of monolithic riffs, poisonous lyrics and a unique combination of roar and lamentation, revealing the dark sides of the band. Iommi' s guitar beats are more refined than the previous album, but still easily identifiable. The songs “Paranoid“ and “Iron Man“ were among the immortals. However, the thematic range of compositions has expanded: War Pigs; originally called the whole album), schizophrenia (“Paranoid“), mad robots (“Iron Man“) or his own drug addiction (“Hand of Doom“). In terms of musical expression, only the song “Planet Caravan“ stands out with its slow hallucinogenic mood. With the second album, Black Sabbath definitely deviated from their blues roots (except for the song “Fairies Wear Boots“) and made the first, really metal-sounding record.
In the Rolling Stone magazine charts, Paranoid ranked 131st for the 500 best albums of all time. The album also placed 6th in Guitar World' s 100 Best Guitar Albums chart. The song Iron Man topped the VH1 program of the 40 Best Metal Tracks.
