Bladderstones: Without Cover - CD
The five-year-old band The Bladderstones, which is already an integral part of the domestic club scene and describes itself as a blues / crossover, is releasing their second album “Without Cover“ after their debut (“Bored of Love“, 2014). In 2015, the group won the Blues Aperitif competition at the Blues Alive festival in Šumperk.
And it is an even more varied collection of recordings, because this time the basic musical material is enriched by elements of fusion, alternative metal and pop. The trio draws on the experience of a longtime member of the band Jablkoň, bassist and lead vocalist Johnny Judl in The Bladderstones, the playing of the excellent modern guitarist Tomáš Frolík and the energy of the new drummer Michael Nosk, who belongs to the instrumental top of domestic rock and jazz.
For the first time on the album, Frolík (“For Once“) also finds himself in the role of a solo singer, while Judl surprises with Czech in his own lyrics for the song “Životní role“. The group dedicated the final captivating instrumental “For Peter“ to a deceased friend and well-known guitar manufacturer and repairman Petr Jurkovič. In “Way Too Much of Love“ it is a light poke into a musty pond of Czech blues.
An important element in the creation of the CD was the music director and sound master Ondřej Ježek, signed also under the final mix from his jaMOR studio, where the guests came to help The Bladderstones, David Babka, sliding steel guitar specialist, and Ondřej Kříž on electric piano.
