Blind Guardian: Nightfall In Middle-Earth (Remastered) - CD

“Nightfall in Middle-Earth“ is a concept album by Blind Guardian, released in 1998.It is their sixth studio album. The album is based on the book The Silmarillion by writer J. R. R. Tolkien, to whom it is dedicated.

Blind Guardian is a German band founded in 1985 in Krefeld as a speed metal ensemble called Lucifer' s Heritage. The first album, called Battalions Of Fear, was released under its current name in the line-up: Hansi Kürsh (vocals and bass), Andre Olbrich (guitars), Marcus Siepen (guitars) and Thomas Stauch (drums).

In the same line-up, the band successfully operated for almost twenty years and released albums: Follow The Blind (1989), Tales From The Twilight World (1991), Somewhere Far Beyond (1992), Tokyo Tales (1993), Imagination From The Other Side (1995), Nightfall In Middle-Earth (1998), A Night At The Opera (2002), Live album (2003) and DVD Imagination Through The Looking Glass (2004).

During its existence, the band' s music has evolved in a combination of power and speed metal, which, however, deviates greatly from the definitions of both genres. In 2005, Frederik Ehmke became the band' s new drummer, and with him, Blind Guardian began work on the new album A Twist In The Myth, which was released in the fall of 2006 by Nuclear Blast.

Among the themes on which the band relies in its work are mainly literature (J. R. R. Tolkien, Stephen King. ), mythical history (ancient epics), fantasy motifs and rarely reflections on world events.
