Boogie Woogie - A Guide to Playing and Improvising (+online audio)

Boogie-woogie is one of the greatest musical influences in the development of modern popular music. Whether it was blues, swing, rock 'n' roll or later hard rock, disco, punk, heavy metal and techno, all these developmental stages of pop music carry easily recognisable genetic traits of this musical style, which originated sometime in the second half of the 18th century in the black juke joints of the American South. This textbook aims to familiarise you with all the building blocks and structure of a boogie-woogie composition and at the same time teach you how to independently assemble these elements into your own improvisations. The publication includes a bonus in the form of 92 demonstration samples in Mp3 format. Keywords: guitar sheet music, guitar tabs, tablature.
