Boomerang - DVD

Written by former political prisoner Jiří Stránský, the former chairman of the PEN Club, this story is set in the 1950s in a Příbram uranium camp for political prisoners. At the end of 1958, after the fall of the Stalinist cult, Colonel Dobrý, the former chief of the Main Administration of Correctional Facilities, arrives as a prisoner.

The theme of the co-existence between the former chief 'warden' and the political prisoners in a Bolshevik concentration camp serves as a timeless reflection for the creators on the possibility (or impossibility) of forgiveness and the meaning of justice.

The film features a superb cast, made up of a veritable galaxy of top Czech actors. Jiří Schmitzer, who plays one of the main roles, was awarded a Czech Lion in 1997.
