Borderline personality disorder
The origin of the fault, its course and the possibilities of overcoming it
Currently, the number of people suffering from so-called early-onset disorders is on the rise. One of them is borderline personality disorder. Experts expect that in the future, the occurrence of early disorders will be even more frequent than today. It is currently estimated that borderline personality disorder is present in up to 50% of patients who seek psychotherapeutic help. The author deals in a distinctive way with the origin of this disorder, its course and suggests ways of overcoming it, both in therapy and by self-help. As a starting point, the author chose a lesser-known fairy tale from the Brothers Grimm's collection Jan ježek. The main protagonist of the story, a boy who was born with a human body and the head of a hedgehog, shows the roots from which borderline personality disorder grows. The fairy tale plot is then accompanied by his reflections on the main features of the life of people with this disorder, but also on the paths that lead to recovery. The audiobook supplement is a factual discussion of the disorder described and specific self-help and therapy options. The audiobook is intended for psychologists, psychotherapists, therapeutically oriented psychiatrists who come into contact with this disorder, and for people suffering from borderline personality disorder.
