Broker

The Broker is the first audiobook from the Prague Stock Exchange. Its author is Martin Kodýdek. Read by Jan Kolařík. An ordinary young man from Wallachia, who dreamed of success since childhood, quickly climbs to the top in a prestigious stock exchange firm after college. But it penetrates an environment dominated by fear, stress, greed and where the only measure is money. Discover the practices and relationships of the stock market world and read the story of the Czech "wolves of Wall Street" with a thrilling crime plot. In this short and punchy audiobook with a crime plot, the author benefits from his detailed knowledge of the environment, having worked for many years for the largest securities trader in the Czech Republic. It gives an authentic and very interesting insight into the inner workings of the Prague Stock Exchange. The broker does not focus on technical details, but rather on story and relationship themes, and is therefore easily accessible to the wider public. The stock market mainly acts as an interesting and, for some readers, exotic backdrop. MARTIN KODÝDEK: After graduating in Finance from the University of Economics, Martin Kodýdek joined Patria Finance, an investment bank, where he spent fifteen years (1997-2012) in various sales and managerial positions. For almost all this time, Patria has been the largest and most successful brokerage firm in the Czech Republic. In 2012, he left his position as Sales Director to go "freelance". He was a consultant to Michal Viewegh on stock exchange issues while writing his novel Mafia in Prague (Second City, 2011), where the main character is a stockbroker. That was also when the first idea for my own book was born. In 2011-2013 he wrote columns for the professional server, among others. pointing out the iniquities of the financial markets under the pseudonym Anonymous Investor. The most successful comments had tens of thousands of views.
