Brzobohatý G. Ondřej: Universum - CD

Ondřej G. Brzobohatý's new album is positive, danceable and thought-provoking.

After three years since the release of his debut album Identity, which was accompanied by a successful tour and for which he received first a gold and then a platinum record, singer and composer Ondřej Gregor Brzobohatý releases his new album Universum. The album, which was produced under the supervision of the author himself, musically moves between pop, funk, soul and jazz. Ondřej recorded it with his concert mates.

Among the guests here are the string Epoque Orchestra led by Vít Petrášek, the brass section on the album was in charge of Miroslav Hloucal, but there is also Roman Holý from Monkey Business.

Universum will offer two very interesting duets out of the ten novelties. Vojtěch Dyk will sing together with Ondřej in the whimsical song We Like Jazz and Marta Jandová in the song Je toho moc.

The songs for the album were written continuously since the release of the previous album Identity. Ondřej presented some of them in concert during the Universum Tour, which took place at the turn of 2016 and 2017. The foundations of the songs logically emerged from playing together live in the studio, which is evident in the final compact sound. The extremely successful final impression of the sound of the recording is underlined by the use of an excellent wind section and string orchestra. The album sounds positive, danceable, and at the same time, thanks to some of the lyrics, it makes the listener think about what is happening around us. The exclusive author of both lyrics and music on the album is Ondřej G. Brzobohatý.

An interesting feature is the cover of the album Universum. This time - instead of the expected cliché in the form of a portrait photograph on the title page - Ondřej's eyes are the basis. And as he points out, his eyes are specific because each one is different, which corresponds with the content of the record, which is quite personal.
