Burnt Petr: 80 Greatest Hits & Duets

Burnt Petr: 80 Greatest Hits & Duets
Jubilant Petr Spaleny (22. 3. 1944) presents a newly assembled collection of 23 tracks, mapping his career from 1967 to the second decade of the third millennium. Choosing the greatest hits from hundreds of options is not exactly easy, but compiler Miloš Skalka is a man truly in his place. The songs were absolutely first-rate, and he supplemented them with those perhaps less well known, but equally important to Spaleny.

Who collaborated on the album
You will also find duets with his wife Miluska Voborníková (next December's, and quite incredible, seventy-fifth birthday), but also with Dan Bárta or Zdeněk Rytíř. The latter would also have celebrated his 80th birthday this year, but he has not been with us for more than ten years. However, this does not mean at all that his lyrics, which adorn the songs of many of our top performers, have, in the case of Petr Spálený, perhaps aged in a fundamental way. Defining the singer's genre or style is not necessary, he is simply unique: songs taken, but mainly original, a bit of memorable bigbeat, a lot of good melodic pop or a pinch of country inspirations. All of this united by the credible bass-baritone of a likeable guy with an irresistible moustache as a trademark. The booklet features period photographs and an insider biography, complementing the singer's profile with endearing insight and rare self-irony.
